Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher role is a vital part of our commitment to inclusivity within our church's education programs. As a teacher in this role, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction, support, and accommodations to students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities and exceptionalities.
Your Responsibilities
Creating Individualized Learning Plans
As a Special Education Teacher at Winter Park Christian Church, you will collaborate with parents, guardians, and other educators to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students. These plans will cater to each student's unique strengths, challenges, and learning goals.
Delivering Engaging Instruction
You will design and deliver differentiated instruction that meets the diverse needs of your students. By utilizing evidence-based instructional strategies, assistive technologies, and adaptive materials, you will empower students to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Building Inclusive Learning Environments
Creating a supportive and safe classroom environment is crucial in fostering inclusivity. Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education
- Demonstrated experience working with students with diverse learning needs
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for inclusive education and creating an accessible learning environment
